Kevin Jackson Architects have been appointed to design the new 24 bed Acute Medical Assessment Unit at the University Hospital Limerick which will be located in the Phase 1 building. The project includes a significant extension into the adjacent courtyard and will involve complex site access arrangements to be agreed as the unit is not directly accessible from the perimeter road the site being behind the new Emergency and Renal building. the design allows the 24 bed to be managed in two 12 bed cohorts each with a high ratios of single bedrooms directly overseen by a localised nurse base.
