The project was a design and build competition for a new Clinical Research Centre on the campus of the University Hospital Limerick and is jointly funded by the University of Limerick and the Health Service Executive.

The design intent was to develop a building which would celebrate the significance of the University and Hospital coming together to create a new dynamic for the research and delivery of healthcare in the region. It proposes two volumes which wrap around a central social gathering space where students and clinicians can meet for the mutual exchange of ideas.
