Kevin Jackson Architects were appointed by Beaumont Hospital to identify a site for the redevelopment of the Emergency Department (ED) at Beaumont Hospital and subsequently to develop a feasibility study for the development of the ED, Critical Care, Cystic Fibrosis, Helicopter services. The project required a detailed analysis of the clinical need for each service which was carried out through an intensive process of consultation with the relevant stakeholders at the Hospital to develop an appropriate brief for each service. A series of options were developed and reviewed to assess their impact on the site and the existing hospital operations and these were ultimately evaluated under series of criterion specifically developed with the stakeholders to identify the optimal solution for the development.
